The FOOL Trilogy

The Part I: Orsath the Singer.

The Fool is about a boy name Orsath who doesn't fit in to his world and who spends his whole life trying to find out who he is and where he belongs. It takes many years, and many magical adventures to do so.
The chapters take their themes and titles from the archetypes of the tarot, but the subtext of the book is the Aspergian nature of Orsath. This book (Orsath the Singer) is part one of three. 156 pages of adventure, magic, music and musings from a hero that is no Harry Potter. He often gets things wrong and he often goes it alone, except for the steadfast companionship of his Dog.

"If you love my books, the Fool Trilogy is my ultimate work and the one that is most important to me. Without ever using the word Aspergers, it speaks to any child (or adult) who felt like they didn't belong, who wished they lived in a different time or place, who's ever felt like they were all alone. If you like my AS books, (or my FB posts, comedy videos, etc), then you will love Orsath. I promise."
From Amazon reader reviews:

"The major arcana of the tarot deck are often said to represent different stages of life's journey, beginning with the naive, innocent Fool (Arcanum 0) and ending with the all-encompassing wisdom of the World (Arcanum 21). The symbols of the major arcana were chosen as they represent the life journeys of so many people, but to people with Asperger's Syndrome (AS), life tends to feel even more like the relentless series of challenges depicted in the tarot, and it is on the framework of the major arcana that Rudy Simone, AS author of a number of non-fiction books on the syndrome, has chosen to build the plot of The Fool, the first in her series of YA fantasy novels.

The Fool of the book's title is the protagonist, Orsath, and it is revealing that traditional illustrations of Fool tarot cards tend to feature a slightly eccentric, unkempt individual who does not seem to be fully aware of the world around him. Like his creator, Orsath displays AS personality traits that influence his journey and his perception of it, and while The Fool is in many ways firmly rooted in the traditional fairytales of Hans Christian Andersen or the Brothers Grimm, with the same wonderful sense of language and storytelling tradition, Orsath's AS personality gives the story a refreshing twist, and one that should appeal to anyone (AS or otherwise) seeking an alternative to the almost-too-perfect fantasy heroes one tends to find in this genre." "Rudy Simone has taken a very accessible medium and inscribed in it some deep truths about how one moves between the worlds of forlorn solitude and genuine community. Using characters we all know both in real life and in the odd corners of our mind, she creates a place where you can find yourself amongst them. It is an adventure with fanciful human archtypes that, when pulled close, reveal some painfully real human truths. If Mark Haddon and Dan Millman tried to write a story together they might come up with this one. If they were lucky." Mulecats, Amazon US

"In Part I of The Fool, Rudy Simone follows Orsath through many turbulent situations in both life and love. Throughout this journey, he is tied to his main passion: singing. Though his dreams of fame and success are what keep him going, he is often simultaneously tripped up by them. Over time, a subtle confidence is revealed within Orsath. He has had to face many challenges--primarily the feeling that he does not quite fit in no matter where he goes--and has learned at a young age to rely on himself.
Whether his decisions for himself can be trusted has yet to be determined, and I look forward to seeing where Orsath ends up in Part II of this series." BL Weber, Amazon US
